“Taking photos has changed my perspective of the city and has helped me realize that even though it can be loud, dirty, and messy, it still holds a lot of beauty that you can unlock through photographs.

The feeling of capturing a good shot is unlike anything I have experienced before. It is satisfying to see a beautiful landscape, plant, or city block and be able to freeze the scene in time, and then be able to show others my experience of something that usually only I would get to see.

Something I have reflected on in my time taking photographs is how easy, simple, and clean it is to do, yet so difficult and frustrating at the same time. To find the right angle, the right shot, the right time to take it, and to create an image in the way I want to see it, that is something hard to do.

To me, that is more powerful than anything else I can use my phone for. Photography brings me joy knowing that no matter where I go, or what I experience, I know I can capture moments that can last a lifetime.”
